Nuevamente otro proyecto de los diseñadores mexicanos Martínez & Sordo, en esta ocasión en Acapulco. Me fascina la decoración que utilizaron, con muebles modernos mezclados con muebles de caracter muy étnico (¿qué tal las mesas laterales en el dormitorio principal?). Hay muchos detalles qué destacar, como las flores, la iluminación, las almohadas y cojines así como los muros azules. Y con esas vistas… ¡qué daría por estar ahí!!!!

Once again we are featuring the amazing work of Mexican firm Martinez & Sordo. This house is in sunny Acapulco, and I’m loving the mix of furniture: modern and ethnic (how about the side tables in the master bedroom?). There are tons of details worth checking, such as the use of flowers, the lighting, pillows and throws, as well as the lovely blue walls. And with those views, there’s nothing I don’t like about it… I wish I was there!

Y llegó el fin de semana! Hoy te quiero compartir uno de mis más recientes descubrimientos: Nap.

The weekend is here! Today I’d like to share with you a recent discovery of mine: Nap.

Nap es una marca mexicana de ropa de cuna y accesorios para bebés. Me encantan sus diseños textiles modernos, me los puedo imaginar perfectamente en un cuarto de bebé (especialmente esos turquesas que me fascinan).

Nap is a Mexican brand of bedding and baby accesories. I love their modern designs; they would look lovely in a baby’s room, don’t you think?  (especially those lovely turquoise tones).

Pero además, me encantan las fotografías de su última colección… me recuerdan un tanto a aquéllas de la tienda de campaña de West Elm, en medio del bosque…

I’m also loving the photography from their latest collection… kinda reminds me of  the West Elm camping campaign, right in the middle of the forest, remember?

También me recuerdan a todas mis amigas que están embarazadas o acaban de tener bebés. =) Pero sobretodo, me parecen las imágenes perfectas para darle la bienvenida al fin de semana… qué ganas de ir al bosque!

These pics remind me of all my friends who are either pregnant of with babies :) I think they´re also the perfect way to say hello to the weekend… -sigh- I wish I could have a picnic in the forest!

Dentro del portafolio de Aristea Rizakos encontré muchísimas imágenes hermosas. Éstas son mis favoritas. Espacios muy acogedores, serenos, luminosos… sin duda quisiera estar ahí. ¿Te imaginas? Amanecer en esa cama llena de color y energía de la primera foto y luego, después de un día ajetreado en la oficina regresar a esta última sala para leer o platicar con tu pareja… ¿verdad que sí?

I found tons of gorgeous pictures in Aristea Rizakos‘ portfolio. These are my most favorite ones. Warm, serene, bright, welcoming spaces… I wish I was there, don’t you? Imagine waking up in the colorful bed in the first image, and then, after a long day at the office to get back home and sit in this last living room to read your favorite book, or chat with your couple… dreamy!

No sé si lo has leído, pero en este año más que en otros, los pasteles son los colores de la temporada. En la moda, en la decoración… la primavera llegó fuerte. La casa que tengo para ti el día de hoy es un verdadero caramelo, con la justa medida de tonos pastel (el azul me parece hermoso), de manera que no resulta para nada empalagoso. Un rico regalito de Pascua para disfrutar este fin de semana. ¡Que descanses mucho!

Soft pastels are in this season, even more than other years. In both fashion and interior design, Spring has brought us a beautiful and gentle palette to enjoy. What I bring today is truly eye candy, with just the right amount of soft pastel tones ( I find the light blue delicious!). A little Easter gift for you to enjoy over the weekend. =)

Había leído sobre pantallas para ventanas, pero no fue sino hasta ahora, cuando hemos estado arreglando el cuarto de nuestra hija, que tuve más inquietud en conocer sobre ellas. Las pantallas para ventanas son  películas autoadheribles y resultan ideales para aquellas ocasiones en las que requieres privacidad, o cuando quieres tapar la vista desagradable (como en el caso del cuarto de nuestra pequeña), sin perder la luminosidad que brinda una ventana. Hay muchas marcas, aquéllas que manejan diseños lindos y originales (como éstas)  provienen en su mayoría de Estados Unidos o de Europa… y para mi bolsillo resultan todavía caras (apróximadamente $70 dólares el metro cuadrado), pero ¡vaya que me gustan!

Algo como la primera imagen sería ideal para el cuarto de una niña… aunque el de las orquídeas y el de las mariposas también están increíbles!

I had read about window films before, but it wasn’t until now, when we’re redoing our daughter’s bedroom, that I paid more attention to them. Window films are self adhesive and they are a perfect solution to privacy issues or ugly views (such as our case), without loosing light and brightness from the window. There are many options out there, these being, by far, my favorites. However, they are still a little expensive for me =( 

Hopefully some day soon! I’d love the first one for our daughter’s room… sooo pretty! Although the orchids and the butterflies are awesome too!

Todo mundo sabe que una de las maneras más fáciles y económicas de cambiar la decoración es pintando las paredes. Y si te animas a un poquito más, puedes conseguir resultados verdaderamente increíbles usando esténciles o plantillas.

Everyone knows the easiest (and probably cheapest) way to change a room’s mood is by painting your walls. But if you use stencils, you can achieve amazing results.

Fue por esta fotografía que conocí a Royal Design Studio, y desde entonces, tengo las ganas de hacer algo así en casa.

This is how I learned about Royal Design Studio, and felt the need to do something like this at home ever since.

Los esténciles o plantillas son una manera sumamente sencilla para conseguir resultados espectaculares en una habitación. De hecho, se consigue un efecto tipo papel tapiz, pero por una fracción del costo. Con un poco de pintura y paciencia, cualquiera puede lograrlo. De hecho, Royal Design Studio tiene toda una sección sobre cómo pintar con esténciles en su sitio web (en inglés).

Stencils are relatively easy to use, and the results are quite spectacular. You are able to get a wallpaper effect by a fraction of the cost. With a small amount of paint and patience anyone can make it. Actually, RDS’s site has a very complete section on how to stencil.

Me encanta que hay muchísimas variedades de plantillas, para cualquier estilo de decoración y para cualquier espacio de la casa. Ahora sí que lo difícil sería decidirme por uno… ¡todos me gustan! ¿Tú tienes uno favorito?

La tendencia de los bigotes empezó como suelen comenzar todas; de a poco. Bigotitos por aquí, bigotitos por acá… en divertidas decoraciones para fiestas, y por supuesto, en la pasarela. El mundo de la decoración no podía quedarse fuera y es ahora un hecho, los bigotes son una gran tendencia en 2012.

The mustache trend started like trends usually do; little by little. We saw them in party decor, on the runway… and sooner or later they jump into our rooms and become a huge trend for 2012.

Mmmmm, un lujo total, y más si lo haces en esta casa, diseñada por la firma mexicana Martínez & Sordo. Cada una de las habitaciones es un festín para los ojos, con acentos en colores fuertes, los muebles rústicos de gusto exquisito, y la vista al valle… una bella decoración de estilo mexicano. ¡Yo sí me apunto!!!!

How about spending your Wednesday in Valle de Bravo, Mexico (instead of behing tons of paperwork in the office)? Total luxury if you ask me, especially if you spend it in this lovely house, designed by Mexican firm Martínez & Sordo. Each and every room is eye candy, with accents in bold colors, rustic furniture and of course, the valley… a beautiful Mexican getaway. Sweet!

Una dosis de azul aqua para empezar con energía este martes. Sobra decir que este tono es uno de mis colores favoritos, especialmente para la decoración. Me encanta lo alegre que resulta y lo bien que le va a cualquier espacio. Me hace sonreír. =)

A little dose of aqua blue for this Tuesday morning is what it takes to start off with energy for me. This is one of my all-time favorite color, especially for decorating. I love how joyful it is and how good it looks anywhere you use it. It’s just one of those things that make me smile. =)
