No cabe duda de que este último mes me pasó rapidísimo… y así, ya está de vuelta nuestra “quedada” mensual, tocándole el turno al baño. ¿Vienes conmigo?

Time has flown away for me, I can’t believe it’s been a month since our last “Meet you at” post, remember? Today we’re talking about bathrooms, wanna join us?

Mi propuesta, para esta ocasión, un baño rústico muy original y diferente, con detalles industriales (mira las lámparas) y páneles de madera estilo cottage. A pesar de que la disposición de los elementos resulta inusual, creo que es un baño sumamente increíble, especialmente cuando mires la parte de la tina y regadera…

The bathroom I chose is a very original space, with a rustic style plus some industrial and cottage touches here and there. Eventhough the layout is somewhat unusual, I think it is gorgeous (I believe you will too after you see the rest of it)…

¡Me fascina todito! La piedra, la construcción de la tina, los muebles de madera y el techo… me hacen suspirar… Prueba total de que el estilo rústico puede ser algo sumamente lleno de estilo, ¿no te parece?

I love it all! The stone, the tub, the wood, the ceiling… sigh! Rustic and amazing!

Graffiti de musgo. Eso es lo que hoy descubrí navegando en internet, y quedé impresionada. Qué cosa más bella, letras que viven y crecen. Mejor aún, que lo puedas hacer en casa -o donde quieras- con la receta que te comparto más abajo. Qué buena manera de comenzar la semana, ¿no crees?

Moss graffiti. That’s what I discovered today, surfing the net. Wow. I’m totally in love. This is such a beautiful thing, living and growing fonts. Better yet, to be able to do this at home -or wherever you wish to- with the following recipe. Way to kick off the week, don’t you think?

Receta para graffiti de musgo:

- Musgo

- Yogurt natural o cerveza

-1/2 cucharada de azúcar

-Licuadora

Lava el musgo para retirar tierra de las raíces. Colócalo en la licuadora, agrega el yogurt o cerveza, 1/2 cucharada de azúcar y licúa. La mezcla debe quedar como una especie de licuado líquido.

Vacía a un bote y utiliza brocha para aplicar el licuado como si fuera pintura.

Checa diariamente para rociar agua sobre el diseño, o puedes aplicar más mezcla para ayudar al musgo que crezca. Asegúrate de hacerlo en un muro con sombra.

Moss Graffiti Recipe

-Moss

-Buttermilk or beer

-1/2 tsp. sugar

-Blender

Rinse out soil from moss as much as possible. Put it in blender, add buttermilk / beer, and sugar. Mix.

Put into container, then apply on wall with brush, according to your design.

Every second day, reapply mixture. Spritz design with water on alternative day.

This works best if the wall doesn’t receive much sunlight.

Me pregunto si con esta misma receta se podría lograr esta cabecera tan impresionante :)

I wonder if the recipe would work for a headboard like this one. Most impressive :)

Acabo de terminar un cojín tejido en crochet para nuestra cama… y me encanta cómo se ve con el duvet!

I just finished a crochet pillow cover for our bed… gotta say I love how it looks against the paisley duvet cover!

Es mi primer proyecto de crochet, y fue un poquito tardado porque tuve que ideármelas yo sola para hacer lo que tenía en mente, pero valió la pena ;)

It’s my first crochet project ever, and it took a little longer than expected because I was following no pattern, so I kept figuring things out all by myself. I think it was worth it ;)

Mi mamá me dio la idea de hacerle unos botones para poder abrirlo y cerrarlo fácil… así que hice unas “bolitas” que rellené con el mismo estambre… me gustó mucho cómo resultaron!

My mom gave me this idea of using buttons… so I made ones using the yarn as filling… I think they look too cute!

Ha llegado el viernes, y también el momento de compartir otro de los cuartos que he fotografiado para ti. Me encanta descubrir espacios inspiradores pero sobretodo reales y accesibles. Al final de cuentas, eso es lo que todos buscamos para nuestra casa, ¿no? Poder convertirla en un lugar espectacular y que nos represente dentro de nuestras posibilidades. =)

En esta ocasión, te presento el refugio que Víctor comparte con Lorenzo, su gato. Que lo disfrutes ;)

It’s Friday already and it’s also time for another room I’ve been photographing for you. I love discovering inspiring spaces, especially when they are real and accessible. In the end, I guess it’s what we all want for our home, being able to transform it into an amazing place that represents who we are, all within our possibilities. =)

¿Verdad que es hermoso?

Ain’t it pretty?

Algo sumamente notable e increíble es que la mayoría de los muebles que se usaron en la habitación son muebles que ya había en la casa, lo cual aporta al estilo recuperado y lleno de carácter. Mi favorita es la mesa de trabajo, la cual era una mesa de cocina empapelada en la cubierta…  Se le retiró la protección para descubrir la hermosa madera, y sólo se le aplicó una capa de sellador, para que la quedara muy al natural. Y lo que más me gusta es cómo luce ahora, con todas las cosas que se le acomodaron. ¡Vaya manera de estilizar una mesa!

Something I find amazing is that all furniture is reclaimed from other rooms in the house, which adds up to the style and character. My absolute favorite is the table, which used to be in a kitchen long ago and had some kind of paper or cloth protection on the cover. This was removed to discover the beautiful wood underneath, then V. applied sealer to protect the natural tones. I love how it looks with everything on it against the lovely wall color. Gorgeous styling!

Teníamos tiempo planeando los cambios en el cuarto de nuestra hija, sin embargo desde la pared pintarrón, ya no habíamos tenido avances. Así que, sin que lo supiera mandamos a hacer un juego de muebles con escritorio, además de unas repisas, y la llevé a la tienda de pinturas a escoger un color para su cuarto. De repente, un día regresando de la escuela cuál va siendo su sorpresa al encontrar la otra pared de su cuarto transformada.

Eventhough we started planning our daughter’s bedroom makeover for a while, we hadn’t done anything really since the dry erase wall. So, without telling her anything, we had some furniture made (inspired by Ikea) and I took her to the paint store to choose a color. Then suddenly, she found the surprise as she got home from school.

First of all, let me remind you what the wall looked like before.

Unos cajones nada prácticos y la hermosa máquina de coser que compramos en una venta de cochera.

Some very impractical drawers and the old sewing machine we found in a garage sale.

¡Ahora es luminoso, práctico, moderno y tan alegre!

Now it’s bright, practical, modern, and so beautiful!!!

Y combina perfecto con la colcha que encontramos hace algunos meses.

And I love how the color she chose goes so well with her duvet.

Y si a eso agregamos el cambio que ya había del otro lado del cuarto…

And considering the change in the other side of the room…

¡Sofi está encantada; no más rosa! Por supuesto todavía hay cambios que hacer (como quitar las persianas), pero poco a poquito el cuarto de sus sueños se está haciendo realidad…

I know there are still things left to do. Slowly but surely her dream room is becoming a reality! She is so happy (and so are we)!

Lo prometido es deuda. Como había comentado, he estado tomando fotos de cuartos muy lindos, y hoy quiero compartirte el primero. Se trata de un espacio sumamente inspirador: el increíble cuarto para una bebé. Espero que lo disfrutes tanto como yo ;)

I’ve been taking pictures of pretty rooms, and I thrilled to say today I’m finally sharing the first one. This is a very inspiring room: a baby girl’s gorgeous room. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do ;)

¿Verdad que es hermoso? Toda la decoración corrió a cargo de los papás, y lo que más me gusta es que fue la mamá quien hizo muchos de los detalles que ves, por ejemplo, el hermoso móbil sobre la cuna y los dos muñequitos de tela de la repisa. Otros accesorios, como la lámpara, las cortinas o los cuadros de mariposas son de Ikea; ropa y acesorios de cama así como espejo son de Zara Home. De esta manera, combinando con buen gusto, consiguieron un ambiente cálido y de estilo clásico moderno. Ellos buscaban un espacio sereno ideal para la pequeña bebé, y ¡vaya que lo lograron!

Isn’t it lovely? I think the proud parents did an excellent job, and what I like the most is that it was actually the mommy who made many of the cute details, such as the butterfly chandelier and the two cloth dolls on the shelf. Other accesories, such as the pendant, curtains and butterfly frames come from Ikea; bedding and wall mirror are from Zara Home. It was mixing with taste that they managed to achieve a warm and welcoming room, with a classic yet modern style, perfect for the new baby, just what they were looking for!

¡Hola, buenos días! Hoy te quiero compartir otro fabuloso “Antes y después”. Se trata de un cuarto con oficina, ideal para recibir a las visitas. La transformación, justo como me gusta: sencilla e impactante. ¿Quieres ver?

Hi there, good morning! Before I head to my office, I’d like to share with you another amazing “Before and After” I recently discovered. It’s a room/office, perfect for a guest room. The makeover is exactly the type I love: easy and unbelievable. Wanna see?

¿Qué tal, eh? Impresionante, me parece. Tam hizo todos los cambios, desde el arte de madera, hasta colocar las tablas y listones en la pared. Me encanta cómo se aprovechó al máximo el espacio con los mismos muebles que ya se tenían. Otro cambio muy interesante es el de haber aprovechado el clóset para crear una pequeña oficina, pintándola con esténciles de Royal Design.

So pretty! Tam did almost everything, from the artwork to the board and batten. I love how she maximized space with the furniture already in the room. Another huge change was the closet office, with a lovely wall detail made with Royal Design stencils. Love it!

Así que, si tienes algún cuarto que quieras transformar, ¡anímate! Ya ves que sí es posible conseguir cambios increíbles, hasta en los cuartos más pequeños. Todo lo que necesitas es inspiración. ;)

Como lo anticipaba el día de ayer, ha llegado el día de una nueva quedada, y en esta ocasión la cita es en el comedor. ¿Me acompañas?

Just as I was writing yesterday, the time has come for a new “Meet you at…” post, from our monthly series, and this time, we’re having the party over at the dining room, shall we?

Existen muchos comedores lindos, dignos de nuestra cita mensual, sin embargo, para esta ocasión tan especial quiero presentarte mi comedor favorito (de uno de mis blogs favoritos, TLC).

There are many beautiful dining rooms out there, however I wanted to show you my favorite dining room of all (from one of my favorite blogs in the world, The Lettered Cottage).

Si acaso te preguntas por qué este comedor es mi comedor favorito de la vida, bueno, pues aquí va la respuesta. Me encanta porque es un comedor real y realista, muy adecuado al uso diario, con un estilo cottage increíble. Y me FASCINA la pared descubierta, la cual sirve de galería para colgar fotos, cuadros y objetos lindos e interesantes y le aporta muchísimo carácter. Esa pared me inspira cada vez que la veo… ojalá nosotros pudiéramos hacer algo similar en nuestra casa.

In case you’re wondering why this is my favorite dining room, well here goes. I like it because it’s a real dining room, functional and pretty, with the most amazing cottage style. But mostly, I LOVE it because of the gorgeous wall. It inspireds me every time I see it… I wish we could do something similar here at home.

De hecho, es tan bonita, que cuando Layla y Kevin arreglaron su dormitorio y colocaron el colchón en el comedor, se veía increíble.

It is so gorgeous that it looked good, even when Kevin and Layla where doing their bedroom and placed the matress right in the middle of the dining room.

¿Cuántos comedores lucen así de lindos con un colchón en el suelo, quiero saber?

Recientemente una lectora me preguntó mi opinión respecto a utilizar una gran fotografía blanco y negro como cabecera… y debo decir que la idea me fascina. Es una manera tan fácil y creativa de hacerse de una cabecera, además de imprimirle mucho estilo y personalidad al cuarto. Lo mejor de todo es que puedes escoger la imagen que tú quieras, de manera que se puede tratar de algo que tenga mucho significado para ti, o algo que vaya totalmente con tus gustos. Una recomendación es que imprimas la foto sobre canvas o lienzo… lucirá como una auténtica obra de arte ;)

Entre todas las fotos se coló una de un espejo -no una foto-. La incluí porque finalmente luce como algo grande enmarcado… y se ve muy bien!

A reader recently asked my opinion on using oversized, black and white photographs as headboards… all I have to say is a LOVE the idea. It’s such an easy and creative way to make yourself a headboard, and personalize it big time. Best thing is you can totally decide on the image to use, so you that it is meaningful to you. Bonus tip: Print your photograph on canvas, it will look like a piece of art.

I know there’s a mirror instead of a photograph in the image selection above… totally intentional. I love how it shows a big frame above the bed… gorgeous!

No sé si lo has leído, pero en este año más que en otros, los pasteles son los colores de la temporada. En la moda, en la decoración… la primavera llegó fuerte. La casa que tengo para ti el día de hoy es un verdadero caramelo, con la justa medida de tonos pastel (el azul me parece hermoso), de manera que no resulta para nada empalagoso. Un rico regalito de Pascua para disfrutar este fin de semana. ¡Que descanses mucho!

Soft pastels are in this season, even more than other years. In both fashion and interior design, Spring has brought us a beautiful and gentle palette to enjoy. What I bring today is truly eye candy, with just the right amount of soft pastel tones ( I find the light blue delicious!). A little Easter gift for you to enjoy over the weekend. =)
