After telling you about our adventures in Cholula last week, how about another bit of our holiday trip? Today, we’ll be touring the gorgeous city of Puebla, and its surroundings, so come join me!
Puebla is famous for many things: its food, its architecture, its churches… and also Africam Safari. This is an amazing place, especially if you have kids in your trip (like we did). You really feel in Africa, watching beautiful animals in beautiful landscapes around you, everything from your carseat. A good advice is to look for coupons (we found one in Groupon, which reduced the entry cost by half).
Africam también tiene un aviario. Es increíble tener a tantos pajaritos alrededor tuyo. 🙂
Africam has an aviary park too. It really is amazing having that many birds around you. 🙂
There’s also a little trip down Valsequillo dam (for an extra fee). We were able to have a glimpse at three volcanoes from there: Popocatepetl, Iztaccihuatl and Malinche.
After our visit to Africam, we came back to our hotel, right in downtown Puebla, in a very gorgeous and old building.
This was our view each day as we left the hotel. What a gorgeous building, and stained glass, right?
Truth is we stayed in Puebla for quite a few days, and since we visited the safari and Cholula at the same time, we only got to see the city of Puebla when we got back, when it was late. Our tours where actually during the night, but boy they were amazing! All the buildings were perfectly lit, plus the Christmas lights in the city… it was such a beauty. The photos obviously do not do justice to this beautiful city, but at least I hope you get an idea of how pretty it is (and how you should stay a little longer than 3 days).
Palacio Federal (Federal Palace), with its beautiful talavera facade.
¡Bonito día!
The last two photos are from Puebla’s cathedral, an absolute beauty in and out.
So, this was a taste of Puebla, a tiny one, but I sure hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! By the way, I’m a lover of Puebla’s food, and I wanted to taste authentic Chiles en Nogada (one of my favorite meals), so we will definitely come back soon (and in nogada season)!
Happy day!
